Project Home - turning a teen bedroom into a study / guest room
Now Charlie is off to Uni, it's changing rooms time. Moving Rufus into the loft (Charlie's old room) and I get to have Ru's tiny bedroom for my study.
I know, he’s barely left the house and we are already planning what to do with the extra space. Poor Charlie. But to be fair, he has had the best room in the house for the past 6 years, so it’s time for Ru take advantage of that, and move into the loft room.
The loft room has large Velux windows which let in light, loads of storage, and importantly for a 6ft tall 16 year old, a double bed at last.
Ru’s old bedroom
Ru’s old room is tiny. Barely big enough for a single bed to be placed sideways, it fits just. He’s had this mini box room space for years, probably since he was 6yrs old. So he is delighted to be moving to a grown teen room.
How will it change?
I can’t wait to make this room a study / spare bedroom for me, and for when Charlie comes home from Uni. It needs to be dual functional, but with the everyday use being my workspace, and when he’s back it will become his bedroom.
