Project Hallway | An update
It's got to get worse before it gets better right? An update on making a wallpaper decision and the start of panelling.
So you may remember this post, back in March:
when I optimistically shared how I am trying to love my home again after 18 years of living here. Well, we’ve gone through the design and decision process, thrown out wallpaper and paint samples and have finally made a start. All three months later.
Let’s look at the mood board
And throw this away! After much toing and froing we decided to not do any of these ideas, and instead have gone for this:
Ever so slightly different. A more muted, toned down version, which in all honesty is more me. As much as I love a maximalist colourful home on Instagram, the reality is it would really stress me out. So a calm, serene alternative is what we’ve gone for.

Paint for the panelling & internal doors is by Coat Paints. We have opted for Home Is, a warm white which should compliment the wallpaper beautifully.
The wallpaper is a Sandberg design called Raphael via Wallpaper Direct.
Ceiling is also going to be painted in Coat Paints, this time a more traditional white - JoJo’s White.
We are replacing the grotty old radiator with a nice white column rad.
Painting the front door inside and out with Farrow & Ball Light Grey.
Sanding the floors back and sealing the gaps between the floorboards, so it matches the living room floor. Staining the boards with Osmo (see below).
