After seeing all the beautiful gardens and impressive exhibits at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year, I’ve come home and decided my little urban patch needs some love.
Just a few little items that will make it go from meh to magical. So if you are interested in upping your gardening game, then read on.
This gorgeous red watering can in the perfect tomato red is high on my wish list. Watering is such a necessary job, sometimes daily in high summer, especially if you have a container garden like mine. So I wish to make it a bit more special with this little number.
Other watering cans of note:
I like frilly terracotta pots, and I cannot lie! What is it about these beauties? I wrote a post on my love of them last summer, and my obsession hasn’t faded.
These are from Toast, and they are surprisingly reasonable. They come in two sizes, as seen above.
Other similar pots:
Sarah Raven scalloped pots £24.95
Rowen & Wren £24
Crocus £16.99
Niwaki Secateurs are the ultimate in luxury snippers. And at over £180 a pair, these highly coveted Japanse made snips are way out of my budget. But aren’t they pretty!
Other secateurs of note (and more budget friendly):
I saw these handmade copper plant labels at Chelsea, they were nestled amongst the many Pelargoniums on the C.Atherley exhibit. So pretty, they looked like sparkling bits of jewllery amongst the leaves.
A good quality trowel is a must. Mine has seen better days. I think I’ve left it in the rain for years. This one by Burgeon & Ball is a beauty, I love the wooden handle and heartshaped trowel.
Finally, if you are wanting a Chelsea style garden, without the faff of choosing what to plant, then let me introduce We Say Grow. A brand new mailorder plant company that curates planting schemes for you. All the plants are grown in Shropshire by RHS award winning plants woman Claire Austin, and are delivered by post to your door. You can choose either a container or flower bed option, and there are several ‘moods’ to choose from: Calm, Inspired, Curious, Bold & Kind.
Watch this space, I have the Calm (pictured above) ready and waiting to be planted this weekend.
